Hi Manoj
Hope you remember me, although it has been a long time since we have met.
I am a full time MBA student from MBS. I wanted to register for the NWStartup 2.0 event in Manchester on 14 June 2007.
Can you please point me to the person coordinating that event? Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks!
Warm Regards
Kapil
HI Manoj,
I have been reading your topics here and in Sam’s Vecosys. Though I have never got chance to meet you in blogging events, while browing your profile in LinkedIn, I suddenly noticed that you are also MBS Alumni
It will be nice to catch up with you in Opencoffe/other events.
cheers,
Santosh
Hi Manoj:
The company I work for (based in the US) is trying to decide between Xign (JP Morgan Chase), Harbor (Amex) and a combined 170 Systems/OB10 solution.
While researching on the internet for hours I always seem to come back to your blog, which has been very useful. Do you have any advice/opinions to give in deciding between these 3 solutions? We have to decide next week and I really like all 3. What do you think are the key differences between these 3 solutions? Does each vendor have a niche in the market? Thanks for any help or information.
What do you think is the trend in ‘paying for’ EIPP solutions. Seems like half of the suppliers say “we don’t charge your suppliers,” while the other half tries to push subscription and transaction fees to suppliers. Charging suppliers for the “right” to invoice you seems like a tough way to get your supply base on-board. Companies like Xign advertise not to charge, while providers like Ariba do charge your suppliers. Your thoughts?
Hi Sean, thanks for getting in touch.
There is no such service as a free service. Someone has to pay somewhere down the line.
There are three typical models in existence, these being:
1. A/P (purchaser) pays for everything - Burns e-Commerce in the UK
2. A/P (purchaser) and A/R (supplier/vendor) both pays - not necessarily at the same rate - Causeway Technologies in the UK - this is a sustainable approach
3. A/R (vendor/supplier) pays for everything - enterprise solutions such as Esker
However, what is charged can change from project (customer) to project. Competitive bidding may require changes to standard pricing structures.
In my opinion, both should pay if it goes through a hub, as the transaction is split between sender to the hub and hub to the recipient. In a hub environment, supplier and purchaser titles become negligent, as each company has a supply chain and a customer base. In a single hub environment, a company connected to the hub can interact with any other connected parties, bringing unprecedented tangible and intangible benefits to all.
At present, no two hubs are the same. No two enterprise solutions are the same. Each vendor has different value propositions.
Let me know your individual company circumstances through e-mail manoj [at] ranaweera.name and I will try to answer any queries you have (as I have done with Rhonda).
Hi Manoj,
I’m involved with a start up company for EIPP. Our app combines A/R, A/P, HR and supply chain. The app is able to learn any companies app. Meaning our EIPP app does not have to be mapped, we refer to what our EIPP app does as netting.
I would like to offer you an opportunity to see our EIPP app.
If any one is interest in learning more about our EIPP please contact me.

Hi Ernie
I am happy to understand your product. I am also intrigued to hear that your product does not require mapping. Please do get in touch. Regards Manoj
Hi Manoj,
Well, i am from the PE/VC industry and have received a proposal for funding from a group of people who have broken up from an EIPP provider from the USA. These people want to focus only on the Indian markets as they believe that there is tremendous scope for their product in India, as basically there is no competition (although WIPRO and other large vendors definitely have products for EIPP). They have already received confirmation for the beta testing of their product from two very large electronic component manufacturing companies).
May i have you views on the scope for such products in India and the competitive situation? Google is not of much help, you see.
P.S. - can i have areply on my mail box?? its niraj@indiaco.com
Manoj,
I found this today and it shows the end-to-end cost of processing an Invoice:
